A predatory fish that should not be kept with smaller tank mates. Can be territorial towards their own kind. Keep with larger robust, yet peaceful, tank mates, top-dwelling fish will do better than bottom dwelling as this catfish may bully others in the same area.

Diet[edit]

A voracious eater, will accept most foods including meaty foods such as bloodworm, earthworms, mussels, prawn and sinking catfish wafers.

Feeding regime[edit]

Feed once or twice a day.

Environment specifics[edit]

Should be provided a soft substrate such as sand in which to burrow as well as caves amongst bogwood and rocks in which to hide in during the day. The tank should be well filtered and without very bright lighting.

Behaviour[edit]

Likes to burrow and may dig up plants. Predatory and can be territorial towards their own kind and other bottom dwellers.
