Sexing[edit]
- There are no colour differences between the sexes but mature females will appear more plump and rounded in the belly area than males. You can also identify them by their swimbladder, which is clearly visible through their almost transparent bodies. In the male this has an irregular pointed shape, in the female it is more even.
Tank compatibility[edit]
- As these fish are so small they're best kept with other small peaceful fish, dwarf Corydoras such as Corydoras habrosus for example. Do not keep with predatory or aggressive fish.
Diet[edit]
- Will take most small pellet and flake foods as well as bloodworm and brine shrimp.
Feeding regime[edit]
- Feed once or twice day.
Environment specifics[edit]
- Appreciate soft water, will only breed in soft water. Colors look better with a pH under 7.0. Works well in planted nano tanks.
