Environment Specifics[edit]

A very easy plant and often one of the first plants for beginners. Not eaten by most herbivores, it has a very bitter taste. Does best tied with fishing line to rock or bogwood and will rot if placed directly into the substrate. Propagation by splitting of the rhizome or by pollination.

Identification[edit]

Has broad oval shaped bright green tough leaves rising from a rhizome. It flowers frequently under water.
