Crayfish (or Crawfish) are similar in shape to Shrimp but grow larger, have larger claws and tend to be more aggressive.

In some countries there are strict laws on what crayfish can be kept. In the UK only one species in legal and that is the Cherax quadricarinatus. These laws are generally in place due to crays escaping into the wild that may not be their natural habitat and descimating the local wildlife.

Crayfish may also be referred to as Lobster, but Lobsters are only Saltwater, Crays are their Freshwater counterpart.
